The Palazzo Labia is located near Campo San Geremia, at the western entrance to Cannaregio. Its position, close to the station and the Cannaregio canal, makes it easy to see without always taking the time to identify it.
The palace was built for the Labia family, a wealthy family that entered the Venetian patriciate late. Its Baroque architecture affirms a strong social ambition, in a neighborhood of transit but also prestigious residences.
Its fame is mainly due to the grand salon decorated by Giambattista Tiepolo on the theme of Antony and Cleopatra. This cycle ranks among the great secular decorations of the 18th-century Venetian.
The building is now linked to Rai and is not a museum open daily. The sheet is therefore mainly useful for understanding what one sees from the outside and for signaling the heritage value of the interior.
