Santa Marta farmers' market Market
A direct-sales market run by producers, Monday mornings at Santa Marta, at the western end of Dorsoduro.
The Santa Marta farmers' market brings together, on Monday mornings, farmers who sell their produce directly. It sets up near the Santa Marta pier, at the western end of Dorsoduro, a residential and port area that few visitors pass through.
This type of market, called mercato contadino in Italian, focuses on fresh, seasonal produce from the lagoon and the mainland. It remains modest, but it complements the neighborhood markets for residents of the western part of the city.
