At the southeastern tip of the island, the Murano Lighthouse raises its tall white tower marked with black bands facing the lagoon. The current lighthouse, built in the 20th century to replace older devices, is still in operation and is both a navigation landmark and one of the most recognizable elements of the Murano landscape.
At about 35 meters in height, the tower dominates the quays near the Murano Faro stop. The area is less monumental than the heart of the island, but its opening onto the lagoon offers beautiful views toward the eastern waters of Murano and, on clear days, toward Sant'Erasmo.
Visit: the lighthouse is not open to the public; it can be freely observed from the surrounding quays.
