Christmas in Venice: illuminations and events
Every year, the City of Venice publishes a year-end festive programme entitled “Venezia. It’s Christmas Time”, which generally begins around late November. In 2025, it started on 21 November.
Highlights from the latest edition include: Murano illumina il mondo, glass chandeliers installed beneath the Procuratie Vecchie, St Mark's Square (from 21 November 2025 to 1 March 2026), an ice rink on Campo San Polo scheduled until mid-February, the “Isola del Natale” on the Lido and at Pellestrina, and a Christmas market in piazza Ferretto, in Mestre.
