The Mercatino dei Miracoli, Cannaregio's flea market
The Mercatino dei Miracoli is held on Campo Santa Maria Nova, in Cannaregio, just behind the apse of the church of Santa Maria dei Miracoli, from which it takes its name. It is a flea market: the sellers are private individuals rather than professionals, which makes it a virtually unique event in the historic centre.
You will find vintage and second-hand items of all kinds: tableware and ceramics, Murano glass, books, comics, prints and photographs, clothing and accessories, small collectibles. The atmosphere is that of a neighbourhood flea market, attended by Venetians as much as by visitors, and the setting, with the marble facade of the Miracoli, adds to the charm of the walk.
