Marine weather in Venice Article

Winds and sea in Venice and the northern Adriatic Sea, multi-day weather forecasts. Tourism and the city of Venice, information and history

In Venice, a distinction must be made between conditions at sea in the Adriatic and those in the lagoon. For a visit, tide forecasts are particularly important: wind and atmospheric pressure can significantly alter the water level compared with the astronomical tide alone. Acqua alta is generally spoken of when the tide exceeds +80 cm; the effects become noticeably more troublesome from around +100 to +110 cm.
